DJI Introduces Avinox Electric Assist System with All-Terrain Capabilities

July 3, 2024, Shenzhen — DJI has officially launched the powerful and lightweight Avinox Electric Assist System, marking a significant step into the cycling world. The Avinox Drive System offers numerous advantages, including high torque, compact size, lightweight battery, extended range, GaN fast charging, intelligent assist algorithms, and smart vehicle connectivity. These features enable the system to handle complex riding conditions effortlessly, providing an enhanced cycling experience for a wide range of applications. The Avinox system made its global debut at EUROBIKE 2024, one of the most influential cycling events, where it won the EUROBIKE AWARD 2024 for its outstanding product capabilities and innovation.

"DJI has many cycling enthusiasts on our team, and we have been closely watching the cycling industry for a long time," said Xiao Nan Zhang, DJI's Senior Corporate Strategy Director and Spokesperson. "DJI has a deep foundation in motors, battery technology, reduction mechanisms, and electrification. From consumer products to professional imaging equipment and agricultural drones, we have independently developed, designed, and produced motors of various sizes and power levels. This experience gives DJI comprehensive capabilities in motor production, manufacturing, and optimization, all of which have been fully validated in the market. Building on this expertise, we have officially launched the powerful and lightweight Avinox Electric Assist System, adhering to DJI's core values of relentless innovation and uncompromising performance. We aim to empower our partners through technology and provide a new cycling experience for more users."

Additionally, DJI introduced the world's first all-terrain electric-assist mountain bike equipped with the Avinox Electric Assist System — the Amflow PL. "We look forward to collaborating with clients in various fields to explore new possibilities and enjoy the beauty of technology," Zhang added.

Power and Lightweight Design: A New Cycling Experience
The Avinox Assist Unit weighs only 2.52 kilograms, roughly the size of a palm, yet delivers a torque of up to 105 Nm, providing ample power to handle various cycling terrains. Its innovative dual planetary gear structure achieves a revolutionary balance between side cross-sectional area, weight, and power output, enabling high torque and lightweight bicycle designs.

In addition to the three conventional assist modes — Eco, Trail, and Turbo — DJI's Avinox system introduces the unique Auto mode, which adapts assist output based on real-time road conditions and cycling posture, eliminating the need to switch modes manually. In challenging conditions, the Boost mode can be quickly activated, delivering up to 120 Nm of assist torque and a maximum output of 1000 watts for up to 30 seconds, providing confidence in navigating complex terrains. Moreover, the bike screen can display parameters like assist level, maximum torque, start pedal response, and continuous pedal response, all customizable via a mobile app.

The Avinox Electric Assist System is also equipped with an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and high-resolution wheel speed sensors to provide advanced push functions. The Auto Hold feature prevents the bike from rolling back when parked on a slope, while Hill Start Assist provides additional torque to counteract gravity, helping riders start uphill with ease.

Extended Range and Fast Charging
The Avinox Electric Assist System offers two battery versions: 600 Wh and 800 Wh. The batteries are lightweight and compact, helping reduce the overall weight of the bike while featuring high energy density and large capacity for extended range. The system is equipped with an IP56-rated battery health management system that supports self-discharge, real-time health status estimation and alerts, and active voltage reduction, helping extend battery life. Even after 500 cycles, the battery retains 80% of its initial capacity, ensuring safety and durability. The fast charger uses 12A 508W GaN technology, charging the 800 Wh battery from 0% to 75% in just 1.5 hours.

Intelligent Interaction and Vehicle Connectivity
The Avinox system features a 2-inch OLED HD color display as the central interaction hub, enabling seamless connectivity between the assist unit and user devices. The screen has a brightness of up to 800 nits, with automatic adjustment, dustproof, waterproof, anti-glare features, and supports wet hand operation. Even in bright sunlight or heavy rain, the screen remains clearly visible.

The Avinox app allows users to customize the display content on the central control screen, including workout time, cycling mileage, average speed, real-time power output, and more. The app also supports personalized cycling data settings and motion alerts. If the vehicle mo
